What is Digital Wallonia?
Digital Wallonia is the digital strategy of the Walloon Region. Its mission is to support organizations in their digital transformation by fostering innovation, skills development, collaboration, and the adoption of emerging technologies.
Through a network of recognized partners, Digital Wallonia connects companies, public institutions, research centers, and technology experts to build a strong, sustainable, and competitive digital ecosystem in Wallonia.

DigitalWallonia4.ai: accelerating AI adoption in Wallonia
Within the broader Digital Wallonia strategy, DigitalWallonia4.ai is the initiative dedicated specifically to Artificial Intelligence.
Its objectives are to:
- Accelerate AI adoption among Walloon SMEs and public institutions
- Promote ethical, responsible, and sustainable AI usage
- Strengthen collaboration between businesses, research, and technology experts
- Help organizations move from experimentation to concrete AI projects

From recognition to action: AI Opportunity Workshops
To support the ambitions of DigitalWallonia4.ai, IRIS IMS will soon launch its AI Opportunity Workshops, designed to help organizations turn AI ambition into concrete action.
These workshops are:
- Hands-on and business-driven
- Designed for SMEs and public institutions
- Focused on identifying high-value AI use cases
- Oriented toward measurable impact and ROI
Over a structured five-day program, participants will:
- Assess their AI maturity
- Identify and prioritize relevant AI opportunities
- Evaluate feasibility and business impact
- Receive a boardroom-ready AI Opportunity Report with clear next steps
Funding & Support
As part of the DigitalWallonia4.ai initiative, the AI Opportunity Workshop (Start AI) may benefit from regional funding mechanisms designed to support organizations in their first steps toward AI adoption.
Funding conditions:
- Start IA (SMEs & private organizations)
- A 5-day AI feasibility and roadmap workshop, eligible for up to 70% subsidy, capped at €3,500.
- Public sector organizations
- Public administrations and institutions may be eligible for up to 100% subsidy, subject to program conditions.
These funding mechanisms are intended to reduce the initial barrier to entry and allow organizations to focus on clarifying use cases, assessing feasibility, and building an actionable AI roadmap before committing to implementation.
Eligibility and final funding approval are subject to validation by the DigitalWallonia4.ai program.
